Swimming

We are excited to introduce your little ones to the wonderful world of swimming here at Little Leo’s.

Our swimming program not only introduces your children to the joys of being in the water but also provides a safe and enjoyable environment for them to learn and grow.

Swimming is not just a recreational activity; it is a life skill that can bring immense joy, boost confidence, and, most importantly, promote water safety. Your child will build their water confidence, learn basic water safety skills, and, of course, have a blast in the pool.

Here are the benefits of learning to swim at a young age:

Water Safety:

Teaching young children to swim helps reduce the risk of water-related accidents, as they become more comfortable in and around water.

Physical Fitness:

Swimming is an excellent full-body workout that enhances cardiovascular health, muscle strength, and overall fitness from a young age.

Coordination:

Swimming improves motor skills and coordination as children learn to move their arms and legs simultaneously.

Confidence Boost:

Mastering swimming strokes and achieving goals in the water can boost a child’s self-esteem and confidence.

Social Interaction:

Swimming lessons often involve group settings, fostering social interaction and the development of valuable social skills.

Lifelong Skill:

Learning to swim at an early age equips children with a valuable life skill that they can enjoy throughout their lives, opening up opportunities for water-based activities and sports.

Learning Activities

Our activities like splashing, pouring water, and blowing bubbles in the shallow end of the pool to help them become comfortable with the water.
We teach your child basic floating skills, such as tummy floats and back floats, with the support of a flotation device like a noodle or floaties.
Your child will love games such as our colourful toy toss, where they dive and grab rings. This activity can help them become comfortable with submerging their face.
We introduce basic water safety concepts, such as never running near the pool, always having adult supervision, and the importance of floatation devices.
We’ll progress your child at their own pace. Some children may take longer to become comfortable in the water than others.
We boost confidence in your child and praise and reward their efforts and achievements in the water.

Example: Leo the Lion used to be unsure about water, being a lion and all. But thanks to Little Leo’s, he now can’t wait for his weekly swim class! His absolute favorite thing in the pool is diving for those colorful rings. Going underwater, grabbing the rings, and the awesome feeling when he gets them all – it’s like a big adventure! Swimming doesn’t just keep Leo fit and healthy; it puts a huge smile on his face too.

Little Leo’s provides weekly swimming lessons for ages 4+.
